ocated in the beautiful Oise Valley near Paris, Château d'Hérouville stands with its amazing musical legacy. The 18th century Château overlooks the meadow where Vincent Van Gogh painted several of his final works, and it is said that Frédéric Chopin and Amantine Dupin (George Sand) sometimes met for trysts here.
Michel Magne built Strawberry Studios in the Château in the 1970s. Château d'Hérouville is well known by its affectionate nickname 'Honky Château', the title of one of the three records Elton John recorded at the facility. Other artists who recorded here include David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, the Bee Gees and Cat Stevens.
The Château is quiet these days, but a team of dedicated professionals, both in France and in the U.S., are determined to return Château d'Hérouville to its former glory. The teams are driven by their commitment to the music traditions of the Château and to the artists who recorded here. The 21st century rejuvenation will offer live-internet streaming, for the extreme pleasure of an international audience.
